Moan: The high scores

When a player is playing level ten and then completes the round, they are the winner of the game. If they have scored highly enough or completed the game quickly enough they will be added to the high scores table.

Fig 13 - the High Scores window

Note: there are actually two separate high score tables - one for the best scores and one for the fastest finishing times. You can switch between them by clicking on either the "Score" or "Time" icons.

The reason why there are two tables is that you will tend to be rewarded more points when playing multiplayer games (there are more points available the more players are playing) but these games also tend to be more difficult so take longer. When playing a single player game, the score is not very important - you will probably be playing against the clock.

Also note: if all ten entries in the high scores table (scores) have the same score and you finish a game with that score, you will not be added to the scores table as it favours the historic entries.

Likewise for getting exactly the same time (although this is actually measured to the nearest hundredth of a second so all ten entries having exactly the same time is highly unlikely)!
